Another T-Mobile G1 Battery Fix

T-Mobile G1

I received my update on my T-Mobile G1 device and unfortunately the contact sync problem is still present. Not wanting to pop my battery out once or twice a day to make the problem go away, I found it is best to just disable your contacts from automatically syncing all together.

To turn off automatic contact sync, navigate to Settings > Data Synchronization and disable the Contacts option. Now you should notice the little syncing icon disappear. Once that annoying constant sync is gone, you should notice your battery life increase drastically. Right now my T-Mobile G1’s battery life is good enough to get me through an entire work day without needing to charge once.

Hopefully Google fixes this syncing problem in the future. At the moment, I haven’t been doing very well in the remembering to manually sync my contacts department.
