How To Get A Date, The Nerdy Way

So not too long ago I met this incredibly adorable girl named Jenny. She is honestly one of the cutest and most lovable people I have ever met, and I know a lot of cute and lovable people! Well last week Jenny was kind enough to go grab a cup of coffee with me and by the time our coffee break ended I was totally smitten by her – and how could I not be? She is smart, beautiful, always smiling, loves sad pandas, could probably beat me at Super Mario Bros. 3, reads comic books and can even keep up with my insane banter which I am told is a very hard thing to do! Plus, she even started spouting off random math formulas for fun!

Since Jenny is a special girl, one you only meet once in a lifetime, when I finally worked up the nerve to ask her out I decided the method of asking had to be as awesome and special as the lady being asked.

What I came up with was creating a awesome side scrolling platform game to rival some of her favorite video games like Super Mario World… unfortunately creating a video game takes a really long time and since I work a good 60 hours a week currently, before taking care of my Managing Editor duties at Smartphone Thoughts, I decided to put together a little animated demo of the “game” for her that would accomplish the task of asking her out in the most adorable way possible. In the end the demo is not a game, but a tiny jQuery script I put together to accomplish the task at hand.

Needless to say, she was beaming the entire time she watched it, and quickly shot me a response saying that she would go out on a real date with me!

Who knew being so nerdy would eventually one day pay off? I have to say, out of all the Roccos out there, at this moment in time, I am officially the happiest! You can check out the demo from the link below.
